Blackburn Rovers’ Dylan Markandey continues his scoring streak

The 23-year-old is enjoying life in League Two with the Spirits and has impressed Paul Cook during his time at the club. Markandai scored for the third time in five games over the weekend, taking his tally to five on the season.

Markande added the first in a 5-2 win against Morecambe, curling a shot past the keeper and into the net. It followed his poacher-like goal against Newport County the previous away game.

Whether as a number 10 or on the right wing, Marknay has been a fixture for Chesterfield as they battle for back-to-back promotion to League One.

Marknais is out of contract in 2025, but has a one-year option on his deal. It will be interesting to see how Rovers rate his future if he continues his current form.

Elsewhere, James Edmondson made a productive debut for Macclesfield as he scored on his first game. He joined Robbie Savage’s side on a short-term loan deal last week.

They progressed to the next round of the FA Trophy after beating Ashton United 7-1. Edmondson scored the fifth goal to give the Silkmen a comfortable win.

Jake Garrett and Connor O’Riordan were not named for Bristol Rovers or Cambridge United respectively.
