Robert Eilers, the CEO, said he had signed a non-disclosure agreement so he could not identify which major studio was selling the items. He said he had a month to inventory, arrange and appraise the items, but given his limited staff, it may not all be appraised before the doors open Wednesday.

“This building is bigger than your average Walmart,” Eilers said, noting it was the company’s biggest sale in 15 years. “We have more flat screen TVs than Best Buy.”

He said he hopes to attract collectors, hunters looking to furnish their homes, log cabins and other studios.

The volume of TV and film production in Georgia has decreased significantly over the past 18 months. Sales of these production products are another sign that competition from other parts of the world is intensifying, media production companies are cutting budgets, reducing projects and production companies are shrinking their footprints in the States.

Netflix is close to wrapping up the final season of Stranger Things in metro Atlanta, and there’s nothing quite like filming on the Georgia skyline. Lionsgate opened a studio in Douglasville earlier this year, but barely used it. Assembly Studios in Doraville recently filmed a new NBC show and a CBS series.

United Kingdom, increased tax credits this year, has been racking up more budget movies lately, including Marvel’s upcoming The Avengers. The last two Avengers movies were shot mostly in Georgia.

Marvel Entertainment, a subsidiary of Disney, recently announced how many movies it will make it’s moving forward and has largely stopped making TV series for the Disney+ streaming service, such as the recent Georgia-set Agatha All Along.

Most of the Disney+ shows are filmed at Trilite Studios in Fayetteville, along with Marvel movies like Black Panther and Spider-Man: No Way Home.

Currently, the only Disney production in Georgia is the live-action Moana starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson in Trilith. Marvel recently wrapped production on The Thunderbolts at Trinity and used the studio to film Captain America: Brave New World last year. Both the films are slated to release next year.

Last year, Peachtree Battle held a huge prop sale for several CW shows after the CW decided to stop producing scripted TV series after 14 years in metro Atlanta.

The prop eight will be available for sale at the major studio prop sale beginning Wednesday, October 30, 2024 in Atlanta. PEACHTREE BATTLE ESTATE SALE
