In Newport County, 11,622 voters cast ballots; here’s how it breaks down.
- Portsmouth: 2,867 (616 by postal vote, 2,251 early)
- Newport: 2,551 (762 postal votes, 1,789 early votes)
- Middletown: 2,157 (506 by mail, 1,651 early)
- Tiverton: 1,945 (485 by mail vote, 1,460 early)
- Jamestown: 1,397 (240 by mail vote, 1,157 early)
- Little Compton: 705 (155 by mail vote, 550 early)
Voting in Rhode Island
Early in-person voting will continue until 4 p.m. on Nov. 4, allowing Newport County residents to vote before Election Day on Nov. 5.
Eligible voters can find their early voting location here vote.ri.gov or by contacting the local Council of Councils.
The deadline for postal ballot requests was October 15 at 4:00 p.m. However, voters who are unable to vote in person can ask their local board of aldermen to vote by express mail.
All mail-in ballots must be received by the Board of Elections by 8:00 p.m. on Election Day, November 5, to be counted.
For those planning to vote on Election Day, polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. in Newport County and the rest of Rhode Island.
